After a few near-drowning experiences years ago, I was terrified of the water, and part of me believed that starting in my 30s was too late. Gleb did much more than teach me to swim. He taught me something that changed everything: I don't need to fight the water, because the water holds me. Today I can finally say something I never thought I would: "I can swim." My friends joke that my coach is part coach, part psychologist.

I had never been in a swimming pool before. For years I kept saying "I'll learn someday," but I always put it off. Then I came across this coach on social media and decided today was the day. Within just five lessons I could swim at a basic level, something I never expected. If learning to swim is something you've been putting off, give yourself a chance.

I signed up for Hleb's classes without any prior swimming experience. I'd never had the chance to learn, and as a grown man I felt a bit self-conscious about it. From my first class I felt in a safe space. Hleb is knowledgeable, patient, and gives clear instructions. I'm totally satisfied with my progress. Swimming couldn't be easier and more fun.

I started 1:1 lessons as a complete beginner, with a lot of fear and a strong belief that I might never succeed after a prior failed attempt. Everything changed with his approach. What I appreciate most is how he teaches you to feel the water rather than fight it. After just a few weeks I can already see real progress. He creates a safe, supportive environment that helps you overcome fear.

I've been training with him for a little over a month and I'm really happy with my progress. I didn't know how to swim and had no confidence in the water. Now I can swim from one end of the pool to the other. I'd highly recommend him, especially if you're an adult who thinks it's too late to learn. He's kind, patient, and great with kids too.

This is for you if…

Why most adults stay stuck, and what actually changes it

Most adults who can't swim aren't held back by technique.

They're held back by what happens the second they lose the bottom. Panic shows up, and panic doesn't care how much you know about kicking or breathing. You can understand all of it standing on dry land and still fall apart the moment it gets real.

This isn't a skill problem. Your body just never learned that it's safe in water. Until it does, nothing else sticks.

How I work

I don't start with swimming. I start with you.

First I want to understand where you actually are. What happened, what sets off the fear, the exact point where your body stops trusting the water. For one person that's putting their face in. For another it's letting go of the wall. For someone else it's only the deep end. It's different for everyone, so the plan is too.

01

Understand your starting point

We find what you're already okay with and what sets off the stress, and I work out where we begin. Not a fixed program that everyone gets, but a plan built around you.

02

Build control before movement

Breathing, floating, staying calm even when the nerves show up. Your body learns it's safe before we ask it to move anywhere.

03

Add movement gradually

Step by step, at your pace, until you know what to do instead of just reacting. I never push you into anything before your body is ready for it.

04

Move into deeper water, on your terms

Nobody throws you in. You walk in, one step at a time, starting at the wall, then floating, then swimming, once your body is ready and not a second before.

The point isn't only to swim one length of the pool. It's to change how your body feels in water, so the thing that used to trigger panic becomes something you can handle, and eventually something you like.

What you'll be able to do

One story, start to finish

This is a message from a client after three months of working together. She says it better than I could. Below it is what the process actually looked like.

Client message after three months of lessons

Not just another instructor

I'm Hleb. I teach adults in Warsaw who feel unsafe or panic in the water. Private lessons, one on one, in English.

I'm not here to throw you in the deep end and tell you to figure it out. I've seen what that does to people, and it's exactly why so many adults are still stuck.

What I do differently is treat this as what it really is. Not a swimming problem, but a trust problem between you and the water. Sort that out first, and the rest follows.

Your first lesson is risk-free

Do the first paid lesson. If it's not for you, I give you a full refund, no questions asked. The only thing you have to lose is the fear.

Things people ask

I've tried lessons before and it didn't work. Why would this be different?

Most lessons start with technique straight away, the kicking and the arms and the breathing. I start by understanding what's actually going on for you first. Everything after that is built around your specific fears, not a fixed order everyone goes through. That's the difference.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on where you're starting and how deep the fear goes. Some people move quickly, others need more time. After the first session I can give you a realistic picture of what to expect.

Is the whole lesson really in English?

Yes. Every part of it is in English, from your first message to the last session.

What if I panic during a session?

That's normal and completely fine. We won't be anywhere your body isn't ready for. And when the fear does show up, and it will, that's the moment we actually work with rather than avoid. You learn how to handle it right there, as it happens.

What does it cost?

Message me and I'll walk you through it. The first lesson is risk-free anyway, so you can see how it feels before you decide on anything.
